Victor Ortiz Called Floyd Mayweather, an "Old Man..."

In an interview from BoxingScene.com, Victor Ortiz continues his counter trash talks against Floyd Mayweather Jr. and even called him an "old man." He also said that he will be the one that will end the old man's career and will surely make way for the birth of a new breed of fighter under the name of vicious Ortiz.

Here's the excerpt of his statement from BoxingScene.com:

"I don't care what he brings. He's done. He was done when he signed to fight Victor Ortiz. Everything will be told September 17 when a man's career ends and another man's career begins. I will bring a cane for the old man so his back won't hurt too much."

... "Floyd is a good fighter but I've always thought he wasn't great. I'm not impressed and I'm not going to hold any respect like his 41 victims. Those fighters he fought, none of them were me. Somebody is in trouble. It's not what I think I can do. It's what I know I can do."

Well this looks interesting. At first, I thought Ortiz will not ever got a chance with the undefeated Mayweather so I did a little research and check his previous fights. The only video that I watched was his fight against Maidana when I left a remark on this blog that he can't win this match but this change a lot when I saw him fight, Andre Berto. His performance is really amazing and you can see in his eyes and his vicious attacks the hunger to win which even made Berto to rattle and eventually lost on their fight. I hope this hunger will be present on the Mayweather vs. Ortiz fight.

I am wondering right now if what is the reaction of the "trash talk" king money Mayweather!

Will Floyd Mayweather Will Be Over Weight Again on Mayweather vs Ortiz Fight?

There's a question right now raised if Floyd Mayweather Jr. will be over weight again on the Mayweather vs. Ortiz fight this coming September 17, 2011. Such suspicion is raise due to the fact that "money" May did this overweight with penalty stuff during his fight against Juan Manuel Marquez when he first return from his first retirement. He was overweight of 2 pounds and cost him almost $600K penalty but gain him a tremendous advantage against a small opponent like Marquez.

In his upcoming fight with Ortiz, there's always a possibility that part of his strategy will be by over-weighting again. But of course this is just a "suspicion" and doesn't have any real basis or whatsoever. I think he can follow the allowable welterweight limit this time and avoid unnecessary penalties plus unnecessary feedback from his haters.

Oh well, it will be a tough fight for Mayweather but as I have predicted on my previous post, in the end the undefeated will still be the undisputed undefeated welterweight fighter of the world and it takes more than a southpaw like Ortiz to take him down.

Mayweather vs. Ortiz Fight Prediction - Who Will Win?

I decided to watch the previous fight of Victor Ortiz against Marcos Rene Maidana before I made this post so that I could assess properly the match and make a prediction that is quite close to the possible result. You can watch it below too so that you have an idea on what I am talking about.

Based on his performance and style of Ortiz against Maidana, I believe that he will probably lost this event and will surely loose his WBC Welterweight title to Floyd Mayweather Jr. on the later rounds of the match. Why? If he will continue with his vicious offenses which lacks defense, he will surely meet 'fatique' cause by the 'running' and solid defense of Floyd. He might land some couple of punches to Floyd but it will be not enough to take on the undefeated pound for pound boxer. He will then receive some beating on the 7th and up then might eventually get KOed before the 12th ring of the bell.

Ortiz needs to improve his defenses and avoid the counter punches of Floyd to survive the 12 round match and possible defend his crown successfully but Mayweather will be a hard shell to crack and requires more than "vicious" brawl to break.

What we can do is to watch Ortiz vs. Maidana this September 17, 2011 to really find out what will happen with the defending champion.

Who Will Win Between Mayweather and Ortiz?

I guess almost everyone here got their own prediction about the possible result of the Mayweather vs. Ortiz world welterweight championship fight and as part of gathering data about the opinions of the people about the fight result, I made a poll survey about it which you can send your vote via the right sidebar of this blog.

For my personal view regarding this fight, I guess it will still be Floyd Mayweather Jr. He got a stone wall defense that its difficult for Ortiz to crack. The latter just can't get through that defense and he will probably receive some beating from the undefeated fighter. Aside from that people are waiting for Floyd to win this match so that he can prepare to fight Pacquiao on his next fight if in case he will not retire again and dock the match once more.

However, Victor Ortiz can still have the chance to win this match if in case he can keep up to exchange blows against Floyd up to the later rounds. If he can't then there's a big chance that he will be knocked out on the 8th or 9th.
